At the wall opening of a heat pump sits a foam duct made of EPP. You can buy a grille for it, but rarely in the size you actually need — and screwing into foam isn't something you want to do.
This grille holds without screws. Four snap lugs clamp it inside the duct, considerably firmer than the plain standard version. Push it in until they grip, done.
The dimensions
- Ø 160 mm inner ring — the duct
- Ø 240 mm outer ring — covers the opening as well
- four snap lugs, printed in one piece
The grille edges are rounded on top so the airflow doesn't catch on sharp corners, and the grille sits flush inside the inner ring rather than on top of it.
Before printing
Measure the inner diameter of your own duct. EPP varies a little between manufacturers, and with a clamp fit that's exactly what decides between a firm seat and a wobble.
Printing
- 0.2 mm layer height, 2 wall lines, Arachne
- 20 % infill, grid or cross hatch
